Marley proved to the nation last night that nice guys do win, when he was crowned the winner of Big Brother, and took home a quarter of a million dollars. Today, he caught up with Rob, in a bonus edition of the Anj, Rob & Robbo Show.
It was a night that made history for the most number of Big Brother votes cast, and Marley joined Rob following his big win to talk about the finale, and his advice for hopeful housemates.
He was declared the winner in front of an empty audience and several housemates missing due to COVID-19 restrictions in Sydney, as previously reported here on TV Blackbox. But that didn’t stop the celebrations, as Sonia Kruger read out his name, and he was embraced by his family members who were by his side.
“It all seems like a dream, you know what I mean? I couldn’t believe that what I went out to do and what I set out to do, I pulled through and I did it. Not only for myself, but for my dad, my brother, my family.
“It’s like a blur. I don’t even remember hugging SJ. I don’t remember any of it.”
Despite the excitement, the reality wasn’t lost on Marley, with Rob asking whether the night felt as if it was lacking due to the amendments that had to be made.
“It unfortunately did. Especially because of the amazing cast we had come through that house… that deserved to be capped off in a beautiful way.
“It lacked that energy from the crowd that we all wanted, and that we wanted to give back to the fans.”
And of course Rob couldn’t let him go without getting some dance lessons, for what is now known as ‘The Marley’.
“You’re a natural!”
And for those hopeful future housemates, Marley had some words of wisdom for being noticed by producers casting the show.
“Throw in some interesting and unique and quirky things about you.”
“These people are going through thousands and thousands of applications through the casting process. Put something totally crazy in there, and make yourself stand out.”
