It slipped slightly from game one however nothing was going to beat it.

All origin, all the time on Nine. State of Origin (pre-match) (1,006,000), then the big moment State of Origin (Game 2) (1,862,000), followed by a solid audience that hung in for State of Origin (post-match) (722,000) meant Nine absolutely blitzed all comers, more than double their nearest rival’s share. A shame it’s down on previous years, though the BVOD figures show Nine’s push into live streaming is paying off – an additional 228,000 (excluding co-viewing) on last night’s numbers, up 48% on 2020, and up a whopping 162% on 2019.
Nine first in both primary (34.5%) and network (40.9%) rankings.

Seven knew they weren’t going to get much traction so 7 News Spotlight: Murder She Wrote (519,000) did admirably, and a repeat of MOVIE: Forrest Gump (240,000) was really only for the sportsball crowd that don’t have a streaming service subscription.
Seven second in both primary (14.2%) and network (21.8%) rankings.

10 stoically held their head high and rolled out The Project (338,000 6:30pm; 473,000 7pm) and MasterChef Australia (601,000), with the former doing more diabolical Sunday numbers, and the latter at least ticking up to start the week. This was followed by a “who cares” of triple episodes of FBI (255,000; 183,000; 116,000) – a new and two repeats.
10 third in both primary (11.4%) and network (16.4%) rankings.

ABC’s Sunday got hurt a bit, with the premiere of the latest season of Grand Designs (493,000) not doing much, and Jack Irish (397,000) getting punted to drop lower for its penultimate series ep. MOVIE: Cheri (147,000) completed Aunty’s night.
ABC fourth in both primary (9.6%) and network (13.7%) rankings.

Treasures of Greece (148,000)
started the night for SBS, and then it was all cycling as the Tour de France live (stage 2) (150,000) kept the #couchpeleton happy.
SBS fifth in both primary (4.8%) and network (7.2%) rankings.
