Discover if opposites really do attract when one of Australia’s most heartfelt TV series, Beauty and the Geek, premieres on Sunday, July 11, at 7.00pm on Channel 9.

The July 11 date means Beauty and the Geek will be competing against the final stages of Masterchef, and another reality/love competition Farmer Wants a Wife on Seven which is set to premiere a week prior on Sunday, July 4.

Nine will be hoping viewers prefer to find their romance at a Comic-Con convention rather than a Sheep Shearing shed.

The 2021 reboot, hosted by beautiful and self-confessed dork Sophie Monk, has all the fun of the original series with a new layer of heart and warmth which will make audiences fall in love with the show all over again.

The 10 beauties and 10 geeks work together through a series of real-life challenges in the search to find a romantic spark or a lifelong friendship.

Surprising connections are made as two very different worlds collide and strong partnerships bloom in the most unlikely and sometimes hilarious circumstances.

The beauties have their eyes and hearts opened to new possibilities as they help the geeks find their voice, and in return learn a thing or two from the geeks about stepping outside of their comfort zones.

The beauties include a professional theme park princess, a vivacious tanning and gym lover, a red carpet reporter and a criminology student and model. Among the geeks are a maths teacher, an ER doctor/wrestling fan, a motorsport fanatic and a law graduate.

Of course, the fan favourite makeovers are back. The geeks undergo jaw-dropping physical transformations to the delight of their beauties, and along with it a new layer of confidence.

The winning couples from each night’s challenge score one-on-one date time which could help them seed a connection and solidify a relationship. The couples who are not so successful, however, may end up in the bottom two, forced to duel it out in a challenge which will result in the losing couple going home. At the end of the series one couple will be declared the winner and take home $100,000.

Host Sophie Monk said:

“A lot has changed since Beauty and the Geek was last on our screens. Today, geeks run the world and beauties are far more than just a pretty face. I can’t wait for audiences to watch on as they embark on a journey of self-discovery and see if we’re able to answer the age-old question – can opposites attract?”

With an open mind and an open heart, Beauty and the Geek is full of emotion, laughter, fun, and maybe even a little bit of true love.

Beauty and the Geek is produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Channel 9.
