In the first episode, Kay Weden’s world collapses when she discovers her mother Catherine Miller inexplicably and violently murdered inside her own home. Initially, investigators believe the murder is the result of a robbery gone wrong.
However, when they find no evidence of a break-in, they conclude that the victim must have known her killer. Then, investigators discover the frozen remains of Kay’s missing boyfriend.
