New York City accountant Bruce (Greg Poehler) moves to Sweden in Northern Europe, after falling in love with a Swedish woman named Emma (Josephine Bornebusch).
Soon, Emma and Bruce are getting married – hopefully! The new season opens with a proposal, but as the weeks continue the lovebirds and their hilariously bizarre families clash over everything from opposing customs and expectations to the ultimate in-law face-off over where the nuptials should take place.
Meanwhile, Emma is overwhelmed at work resulting in paid time off, whilst Bruce has finally got a new job of his own – fulfilling the unusual requests of American celebrities visiting Stockholm.
