Yesterday, TV Blackbox brought you the news Channel 10 was seeking to double-down on its favourite cooking franchise, and now today it’s confirmed.
The 10 network has confirmed the commissioning of Celebrity MasterChef Australia with the spin-off series expected to air in Q4 on 10 and 10 Play on demand.
10 says it has “searched high and low” for some of the country’s top celebrities with a passion for food, and are ready for their big break in the MasterChef kitchen. “They may be the best in their business, but will they be the best in our kitchen?”
A legendary sports person, an Aussie icon and a famous actor are ready to don a MasterChef apron and face the heat of the famed MasterChef kitchen..
Returning to the MasterChef kitchen are our esteemed judges Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo, as they prepare to put the stars through their paces.
Andy Allen said:
“Melissa, Jock and I can’t wait to swing open the doors to the MasterChef kitchen and welcome these famous faces. It’ll be a multi-talented group who step into the kitchen, but will they be at the top of their cooking game?”
The return of Celebrity Masterchef comes at a time when Australia’s primetime programming is awash with d-grade celebs desperately trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame.
Nine has this week premiered a reboot of Celebrity Apprentice, while Seven has upcoming seasons of SAS Australia and a celebrity Big Brother VIP in the works, plus Foxtel has now commissioned a local version of Celebrity Gogglebox, and of course, don’t forget I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, Dancing with the Stars All Stars and The Masked Singer Australia….
