As the other Block wraps up with great success…what will fill the void?
Nine has a massive start with A Current Affair (807,000) pulling its near highest for the year. Lego Masters Australia (932,000 finale; 1,030,000 winner) saw big numbers for its win, averaging 981,000 across the entire show. Nothing came close. A repeat of The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story (265,000) appears to have been a poor choice as most of the audience went elsewhere, and then the programming split based on code–100% Footy (47,000) [BNE/SYD] or Footy Classified (80,000) [MEL/ADL/PER]– didn’t do much better to keep a late audience.
Nine first in both primary (22.8%) and network (29.5%) rankings.
Home & Away (598,000) ticks up a little for Seven, however was still their best for the entertainment night. Big Brother Australia (592,000) returns with a little tick up but nothing huge, and then US dramas 9-1-1 (300,000) and S.W.A.T. (152,000) keep only the fans watching.
Seven second in both primary (18.7%) and network (26.5%) rankings.
The Project (303,000 6:30pm; 496,000 7pm) gets punched by its commercial competition, and MasterChef Australia (574,000) struggled too. 10’s best for the night was again Have You Been Paying Attention? (654,000), though down on last week’s winning figures. An encore of How To Stay Married (189,000) and Just For Laughs (89,000) offered some late-night laughs.
10 third in both primary (13.6%) and network (21.1%) rankings.
ABC’s Monday is feeling a bit shot at the moment. 7:30 (546,000) wavers, Australian Story (576,000) Aunty’s best–but nowhere near what it has done–while Four Corners (464,000) and Media Watch (408,000) also underperform. Maybe running Lucy the Human Chimp (192,000) at the back end instead of Q+A has made it a less compelling evening?
ABC fourth in both primary (12.2%) and network (15.9%) rankings.
A repeat of Secrets of the Tower of London (133,000) leads off SBS’s night, and following Secret Scotland (164,000) was its best for the night. 24 Hours in Emergency (136,000) is brilliant reality TV and completely under-appreciated, and a repeat of Grand Tours of Scotland’s Lochs (55,000) rounds out the multicultural broadcaster’s night in the UK.
SBS fifth in both primary (4.2%) and network (6.9%) rankings.
