The second last ep of Nine’s family-friendly Lego building show was always going to beat a self-serving attempt at redemption. It was also always going to beat MasterChef.

Lego Masters Australia (901,000) lands its highest yet for Nine with the penultimate episode of season three, seeing away all competition easily. The number drops sharply for 60 Minutes (447,000) as fewer are interested in the story of another overseas high-profile sex pest. Australian Crime Stories (137,000) rounds out their entertainment night.
Nine first in both primary (23.4%) and network (31.7%) rankings.

7 News Spotlight: Craig McLachlan (720,000) draws a far more reasonable audience than Big Brother Australia had been in the timeslot for Seven, however the attempted redemption doesn’t make enough noise to win the slot. The rest of their evening is true-crime filled, with Crime Investigation Australia: Most Infamous (327,000), The Real Manhunter (167,000), and Criminal Confessions (103,000) all helping the network to a solid second place.
Seven second in both primary (19.5%) and network (28%) rankings.

The Project (315,000 6:30pm; 454,000 7pm) again underwhelms for 10, and while MasterChef Australia (586,000) remains consistent–even up a little on last week’s ep in the same timeslot–it’s not lighting any fires just yet with the audience (it’s peak so far was 670,000 on launch night). New and repeat FBI: Most Wanted (277,000; 168,000) complete the night for fans.
10 third in both primary (13.6%) and network (20.1%) rankings.

The new season of Spicks and Specks (486,000) is struggling for the ABC. Have they finally found the limit of the audience for too much of a good thing? Wakefield (205,000) also finds a limited FTA audience with all eps already on iveiw. Smother (153,000) and a repeat of Top Of The Lake: China Girl (49,000) see an end to Sunday for Aunty.
ABC fourth in both primary (9.5%) and network (12.9%) rankings.
