Women’s Flyweight action headlines an explosive UFC Fight Night event this Sunday live on ESPN Australia.

#6 ranked Strawweight Marina Rodriguez faces #9 ranked Michelle Waterson in Sunday’s main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Sunday’s card was initially meant to be headlined by TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen, however the fight was postponed after Dillashaw sustained an injury.

Given the short notice, the Rodriguez-Waterson bout will be contested at Flyweight, despite both being ranked contenders in the Strawweight division.

That aside, both Rodriguez and Waterson will be looking to make a statement in the Octagon.

Recently crowned champion Rose Namajunas is awaiting fresh challengers and Sunday’s winner could find themselves quickly back in the title picture.

ESPN’s coverage of UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs Waterson begins at 7am AEST, with the UFC Fight Night Prelims on ESPN2.

The UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs Waterson Main Card will then follow at 10am AEST.

Another clash of top ten contenders will be on the main card, as #9 ranked Neil Magny faces #10 ranked Geoff Neal in a welterweight affair.

Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone also features on Sunday’s main card against Alex Morono.

In addition, Amanda Ribas and Angela Hill will clash in a women’s strawweight showdown, with the pair known for their all-action styles.

ESPN will once again provide UFC fans with all the latest news around fight week, as ESPN SportsCenter host Phil Murphy talks to Sunday’s participants throughout the buildup on SC: UFC Fight Camp.
