The great weekly switch-off cycle begins again.

Nine out of the gate with A Current Affair (695,000) and Travel Guides (644,000) doing reasonable business, which translates to be good enough to win the night. Doctor Doctor (371,000) down on last week’s season premiere. Hope the catch up numbers are good. US drama New Amsterdam (70,000) does as good as it can buried late at night. Nine first in both primary (19.9%) and network (27.1%) rankings.

Seven deliver a slightly up-turned Home & Away (608,000), and even Big Brother Australia (556,000) did better with no Lego Masters to compete with, though isn’t cracking 600k. How To Look Good Naked (182,000) can’t have made anyone look that good, and Aussie-made US drama Reckoning (60,000) filling an hour late at night. Seven second in both primary (18.3%) and network (26.7%) rankings.

ABC’s Wednesday starts with a reasonable 7:30 (553,000) and then builds to the best in primetime – Hard Quiz (663,000). A sizeable drop to The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (490,000) and You Can’t Ask That (310,000), though the latter has all episodes online and surely fans will have devoured them all by now. A repeat of Saturday’s The Set (68,000) rounds out Aunty’s night. ABC third in primary (12.6%) and fourth in network (17.2%) rankings.

10 struggle at the start of the primetime evening with The Project (309,000 6:30pm; 439,000 7pm) and it picks up slightly for MasterChef Australia (535,000), though it does come in at fourth for the timeslot. New and repeat episodes of Bull (252,000; 189,000) keep Michael Weatherly fans amused and few else. 10 fourth in primary (12.2%) and third in network (19.8%) rankings.
