You Can’t Ask That, is back for a sixth season with eight unflinching new episodes featuring the misunderstood, judged, or marginalised Australians answering the public’s anonymously submitted questions.
The new season kicks off tonight with CHEATERS, an episode that took years to make!
When producers put out the call for people who had cheated on their partners to appear in this episode, they were met with stony silence. But finally, here’s a group who bravely take a seat to face possibly the harshest questions ever sent in from the public in 6 seasons of You Can’t Ask That.
Question one, ‘How could you be such a pig?’
Lisa and her husband sat on the couch watching TV and eating noodles when she just had to blurt it out.
“I’m just like, I lied to you. I slept with someone else, I’m pregnant.”
Lisa’s husband had undergone a vasectomy after their third child. Lisa, now pregnant to another man, could no longer hide her affair.
Lisa is joined in the hot seat, by a gay priest, a rebellious 1950’s housewife, a bisexual male, a woman who cheated on every boyfriend she ever had, and a larger-than-life rural fire fighter whose affair with a younger woman ended up reigniting the spark in his marriage.
This is an episode that goes beyond finger-pointing. It reveals stories about acceptance, personal integrity and the positive outcomes that come with facing harsh realities.
