It’s the scandal that has plagued MAFS participant Bryce throughout the entire series. After fellow castmate Beck made claims about a secret girlfriend, Bryce has been at pains to dispel those rumours.

Even after footage showed his friends talking about the ‘secret girlfriend’, Bryce claimed it was a ploy by producers to make him look bad, but the man at the centre of that claim has hit back in a new episode of The Anj, Rob & Robbo Show.

Jason Roses, a former Big Brother contestant and entertainment reporter for the internet streaming production The Anj, Rob & Robbo Show says he was put in an uncomfortable position when asked to defend Bryce against those girlfriend rumours. He also says what we heard in those backstage recordings was the truth:

“We didn’t think that the cameras were still rolling, we didn’t think that we were being recorded, so what you saw was a very raw conversation. That’s why we were whispering.

“We weren’t acting and the conversation that me and the girls were having was a genuine conversation and you could clearly tell, and I’m speaking on my record, they were not comfortable being there. I was not comfortable being there.

Jason says Bryce had asked his co-workers to quash the girlfriend rumours during the final date:

“He had asked me in a text message to come back with that vox pro and just to paint them in a better light. “

When I pointed out to Jason that he struggled to do that, after some hesitation he agreed.

TV Blackbox has been told by several sources the trio of Jason, Ellie Page and Mikayla White made a pact that they would not lie for Bryce but would also avoid answering any direct questions about the alleged girlfriend.

“It was an uncomfortable position to be in” says Jason.

Throughout the interview Jason avoided referring to Bryce as a friend at any stage of their relationship, despite the fact he was the emcee at the TV wedding to bride Melissa.

When asked about why his relationship with Bryce came to an end, Jason said:

“I think he thought I was out there for the fame, or I was trying to get a bit of extra television time and he saw different articles coming out and next minute I’ve seen he’s blocked me on snapchat, he’s unfriended me on Instagram. I mean I wasn’t really doing anything, I had nothing to hide”

Bryce has claimed the two were never friends and Jason used the opportunity to advance his TV career, a claim Jason denies.

“I was invited to his wedding and then I was invited to the final date in Canberra, so I was a part of his circle for a very short amount of time but it is safe to say we are not friends any more.”
