The 2021 AFLW Final Series is poised to get off to a thrilling start on the Seven Network this Saturday, with a blockbuster live and free double-header featuring cut-throat qualifying finals between Melbourne and Fremantle, and Collingwood and North Melbourne.

Over the next three weeks, fans can look forward to an expanded five-match finals series, which is shaping up as a thrilling conclusion to the tightest premiership race in AFLW history.

The top four teams – Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Collingwood and Melbourne – all finished the nine-round home and away season locked on seven wins apiece, with the fifth and sixth placed teams, Fremantle and North Melbourne, just a game further back.

Seven will have all of Saturday’s action covered on Channel 7, 7mate, 7two and 7plus from 1.00pm AEDT, starting with the clash between the Demons and Dockers at Casey Fields in Qualifying Final B.

Things will heat up at 3.00pm AEDT when the highly fancied Magpies strive to keep their season alive against an in-form Kangaroos team at Victoria Park in Qualifying Final A.

Seven’s coverage will again be led by the AFLW’s #1 commentary team, featuring Abbey Holmes, Jason Bennett, Nigel Carmody, Bec Goddard, Jo Wotton, Sam Lane and Nat Edwards.

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin, said:

“After the disappointment of last year’s finals being cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, the AFLW is ready to blast back with its biggest and most exciting finals series yet.

“With just one game separating the top six at the end of the home and away season, fans will enjoy five sudden-death finals across three compelling weeks, every second of the action live and free. We can’t wait for Saturday’s opening bounce.”

Next week, the winner of the Melbourne-Fremantle qualifying final will play 2019 premier Adelaide in Preliminary Final 1, and the winner of the Collingwood-North Melbourne qualifying final will play the Brisbane Lions in Preliminary Final 2.
The AFLW Grand Final will be held the following week.
