In the fourth and final episode of Australia In Colour, Agriculture, manufacturing, and a growing population supplemented by immigration, transform Australia into a prosperous nation over the course of a century.

There are growing pains and challenges, including war and Depression, but there is also the birth of iconic brands such as Myer, Bushells, and Vegemite.

Australia In Colour delves into Australia’s rich, diverse and surprising history through a treasure trove of film from the 20th Century.

It offers a journey into our nation’s country’s colourful past via a unique collection of cinematic moments brought to life for the first time in stunning colour.

Narrated by Hugo Weaving, it’s a reflection on the iconic moments that shaped Australia’s character, attitudes and politics, including our nation’s struggle to value its Indigenous and multicultural past.

Australia In Colour episode 4 airs Wednesday, 31 March at 8.30pm on SBS and On Demand

Each episode will be made available on SBS On Demand following its broadcast.
