10 had planned on launching MasterChef Australia straight out of Easter (as per last year), however those plans have now been thrown into chaos with the network moving the premiere to Sunday April 18th, relocating it away from Married at First Sight.
With The Amazing Race Australia expected to wrap up soon, the network has been forced to look at alternative programming to fill the gap.
Its understood extra episodes of The Cube are on hand to combat the issue.
Due to the late start of the Australian Open, schedules have been moved forward with Married at First Sight expected to now end in the week commencing 11 April, the first week back of ratings.
I can exclusively reveal through TV Blackbox that 10’s MasterChef will now go head to head with the launch of Lego Masters on Sunday 18 April.
Will Nine pull a sneaky and move the MAFS final to Sunday 18 April, forcing 10 to potentially move the launch of MasterChef Australia to Monday 19 April?
Seven has Dancing with the Stars and Big Brother launching soon, so expect Sunday 18 April and Monday 19 April to include Lego Masters, MasterChef Australia and most likely Big Brother.
That is how it stands right now, but Seven and Nine may move their Dancing and MAFS finales into the Sunday if required.
Whilst Nine has dominated Q1, all bets are off in Q2 as Seven and 10 unleash their powerhouses and with Seven having the AFL, I think it might just go their way.
Seven, Nine and 10 were all contacted for comment.
