Despite rumours of a rift, the Sunrise EP is enjoying a long lunch with former employee Sam Armytage
TV Blackbox can reveal the drinks are flowing as the Executive Producer of Sunrise, Michael Pell, joins Richard Lavender, Kylie Gillies and senior staff for an impromptu lunch to farewell Samantha Armytage.
After her shock resignation on Monday, Sam made an emotional farewell to viewers and staff earlier today on the Channel 7 breakfast show.
But rumours of a fallout with her boss, Michael Pell, intensified when the popular presenter left him out of her farewell speech today. This is despite the fact she made special mention of him and Seven Network Chairman Kerry Stokes on Monday during her announcement.
Insiders tell TV Blackbox Sam is upset over media reports she was snubbing the man who put her in the hosting role.

For his part, Pell has been very positive about Armytage in a press release about her departure and has been tweeting scenes from the farewell episode all morning.
For now though, the Sunrise team are essentially on a social media blackout while they enjoy a few drinks and relive some tall tales.
