Some shows will; some shows won’t. Some shows need a lotta lovin’ and-a some shows don’t.

Nine win the night with the Australian Open 2021 Night 11 (562,000) – the Djokovic/Karastev match (589,000) the highest rating non-News program of the night. This allows Nine the win in both primary (19.4%) & network (27.3%) shares.

Seven’s Thursday lead of triple ep of Home and Away (459,000) was their lowest ratings for the week, averaged across the three, and then it was all downhill from there. Wife Swap Australia (306,000) drops from last week to an all-new low, looking for an all-new time. Busted in Bangkok (151,000) then a repeat of Gordon Ramsay On Cocaine (62,000) trail off into the night. Seven second–thanks only to their 6pm News hour–in both primary (17.5%) & network (26.6%) shares.

The ABC’s Thursday is a mix of success and failure. 7:30 (576,000) and Back Roads (530,000) more than hold their own to almost win the hour, however Q&A (280,000) is still struggling to find its audience on Thursday night, sinking to its lowest figures so far. Repeats of The Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty (146,000) and Would I Lie To You? (100,000) round out the evening. ABC third in primary (12.4%) & fourth in network (17.8%) shares.

10’s evening started reasonably with The Project (280,000 6:30pm; 442,000 7pm), bounced down for a repeat of Ambulance Australia (303,000), and then back up for the season thirteen premiere of Gogglebox Australia (502,000). Why would you give one of your biggest shows of the week a very weak repeat lead-in?! An encore of Hughesy, We Have A Problem (158,000) adds a few more viewers to its overall, and the late night airing of brilliant US drama This Is Us (62,000) had DVRs a-whirring. 10 fourth in primary (12.3%) & third in network (19.3%) shares.
