Today show host Alison Langdon has spoken publicly for the first time since after being injured while filming for the breakfast program.
The popular breakfast host has been missing from the program since last Friday after she sustained a serous knee injury while filming a segment for the program riding a hoverboard.
The segment had been promoted as a showdown between Karl Stefanovic and Langdon on water jets. Langdon had been riding the Hoverboard for up to 60 minutes with instructors when the incident occurred.
Langdon told fans via the Today audience newsletter it would be five weeks until she is allowed to put weight on the injured knee
“I have a nice amount of metal in my knee now and have to wait a further five weeks before I can put any weight on my right leg,”
“Patience has never been a strength of mine so let’s see how we go.”
Langdon went on to indicate the separation from her children, Mack (4) and Scout (2) had been the hardest part of the ordeal.
“Hopefully I’ll head home tomorrow though as I am desperate to hug the kids,”
“COVID rules mean they haven’t been able to visit me in hospital. It’s unfortunate but I understand why the rules are in place.”
Langdon finished the newsletter post by thanking presenter Leila McKinnon for filling in during Langdon’s recovery.
