Starting in remote Uzbekistan, Joanna herds camels in the ancient Kyzyl Kum Desert, views magnificent gems in the dazzling capital, Tashkent, and fulfils a lifelong dream to visit the colossal Bibi-Khanym Mosque in the legendary city of Samarkand.
In India, Joanna enjoys an unusual sunrise at Kanya Kumari, has an amusing encounter with a market tailor in Madurai, and meets up with the Dalai Lama as well as an old family friend.
Throughout this highly emotional and personal journey, Joanna dips into a treasure trove of memorabilia from her old leather suitcase and pays homage to a former family home in her birthplace, Kashmir.
