A new season of Who Do You Think You Are? UK arrives this weekend on SBS as more well-known people trace their family tree, travelling to different areas and other countries to follow in their ancestors’ footsteps.

In the first episode of season sixteen, actor Daniel Radcliffe discovers that the Hatton Garden robbery of his great-grandfather’s jewellery business was far more dark and dramatic than he ever imagined, while an unseen cache of his great-great-uncle’s letters reveals a heart-wrenching First World War love story.

Family secrets and forgotten stories are revealed, sometimes confirming the celebrity’s previous ideas, but often completely subverting their expectations as tales of bravery, charity, loss, and heartbreak come to light.

Who Do You Think You Are? UK premieres Friday, 22 January at 8.30pm on SBS and On Demand (8 Parts)
