A rain delay in the fourth test in Brisbane has allowed Fox Cricket to provide an insight into what’s required to work on a world-class sports broadcast.

Regarded as one of the finest mid-wicket camera operators in the world, Jono Hastings explained some of the tricks and techniques he uses to ensure he never loses sight of the ball in an interview with Mark Howard.

COVID travel restrictions has made this summer’s cricket season a logistical nightmare for the Fox Sports team with some members of highly experience camera crew unable to attend each Test.

Commentary for the broadcast is coming from Fox Sports studios in Sydney and Melbourne in addition to the Gabba in Brisbane. Beloved Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle is also contributing to the broadcast from a studio in Mumbai.

While the Broadcast Director and DRS Umpire System is located in Brisbane, many of the producers remain located in Melbourne and Sydney. Adding to the mix is the fact some graphic packages are being assembled in New Zealand, while some of the advanced statistic packages are being curated and produced in London.

The Fox Cricket coverage of this Test series is being watched by fans globally.
