Shortland Street is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring the ups and downs of the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital, first broadcast in 1992.

Life goes on for the residents of Ferndale in this emotional and heart-warming medi-drama. SBS VICELAND and SBS On DEMAND will be the new home of the long-running and hugely popular Kiwi TV soap, Shortland Street.

SBS has recently secured Australian broadcast rights for the drama which was previously available via Foxtel.

The final forty episodes of Season 28 will drop on SBS On Demand today, January 1st.

Premiering Monday, 11 January, and airing weeknights at 5:40pm AEDT, Australians will be treated to Season 29, which will be fast tracked from New Zealand.

Each new episode will be made available on SBS On Demand alongside their broadcast on SBS VICELAND.
