The Seven Network’s live and free coverage of the four days’ play at the MCG peaked at 1.69 million viewers nationally.
As the Indians bounced back from their devastating loss to Australia in the First Test to romp to an eight-wicket victory at the MCG, Seven recorded an average audience of 843,000 viewers nationally across the entire Boxing Day Test and 563,000 in the capital cities.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane again led from the front yesterday as India levelled the four-match Test series at 1-1, with Seven’s audiences for the two completed sessions winning their timeslots, ranking #1 in 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and total people.

The 2020 Boxing Day Test continued a record-breaking summer for Fox Cricket with an average live audience for the four days of 393,000 across Linear + Streaming, up 26% vs the 2019 Boxing Day Test v New Zealand and up 41% vs the 2018 Boxing Day Test v India.
All Foxtel Group platforms saw growth with Foxtel’s traditional pay-tv audience up 12% vs the 2019 Boxing Day test v New Zealand and up 15% vs the 2018 Boxing Day Test v India.
Streaming on Foxtel Now, Foxtel GO and Kayo continued to attract new viewers to Fox Cricket, up 136% vs the 2019 Boxing Day Test v New Zealand and up 585% vs the 2018 Boxing Day Test v India. (Noting Kayo launched in November 2018.)
The most-watched session was on Day 3 where Session 3 had 484,000 viewers across Linear and Streaming, up +46% on the 2019 Boxing Day Test Day 1 Session 3 v New Zealand and up +31% on the 2018 Boxing Day Test D1S3 v India.
With the result of the Test largely determined on Day 3, Day 4 continued to attract strong audience numbers with an average of 286,000 watching across Linear and Streaming; down 3% on Day 4 of the 2019 Boxing Day Test v NZ and up 7% on Day 4 of the 2018 Boxing Day Test v India.
