Stan has released the first look at the second season of the hit musical series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, which will return early January.

Season two picks up seven weeks after season one; where we find Zoey (Jane Levy) living at home  – and she hasn’t heard a heart song since her father’s (Peter Gallagher) death.

In Zoey’s absence, Mo (Alex Newell) has befriended Zoey’s love triangle Max (Skylar Astin) and Simon (John Clarence Stewart). Both men are still vying for Zoey’s attention and love; while also becoming friends.

With everything Zoey is dealing with, she’s still faced with the dilemma of choosing between the “handsome one or the more handsome one”. The second season also explores how people move on after losing someone, with Zoey’s mum Maggie (Mary Steenburgen) struggling to cope with the loss of her husband.

Season two will also see the return of its stars Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart and Mary Steenburgen.

The series will also star Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant, Kapil Talwalkar and newcomers Jee Young Han (Superstore) and Felix Mallard (Happy Together). This season will have even more amazing musical numbers, which have been choreographed once again by Emmy award-winning Mandy Moore.

Season 2 of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist premieres 6 January, only on Stan. All episodes of season 1 are available to stream now.
