As we slide into sport and summer ratings, the networks appear to have gone one holidays too.
A triple episode of Home and Away (501,000) set the standard for what would be a very light night of ratings. The Front Bar (274,000), then The Latest (220,000) and The Amazing Race US (105,000) was enough when you add in Seven’s News product to win the night. Seven first in both primary (18.1%) and network (29.6%) shares.
Nine started as strong as they could with A Current Affair (565,000), though diminishing returns across the night with a repeat of Paramedics (350,000), a double repeat of King’s Cross ER (302,000; 261,000) and Chicago Med (155,000) meant it was pretty flat. Nine second in both primary (16.2%) and network (25.7%) shares.
7:30 (516,000) the ABC’s best, and it trailed from there. Scottish Vets Down Under (326,000) then a raft of repeats – Griff’s Great Kiwi Road Trip (306,000), Death in Paradise (180,000), and Anh’s Brush With Fame (149,000) – at least kept a consistent number of viewers watching. ABC third in both primary (12.1%) and network (17.9%) shares.
The Project (229,000 6:30pm; 403,000 7pm) gets lower for 10. Jamie’s Easy Meals For Every Day (289,000; 253,000) does not rate, and as a lead-in doesn’t help a new ep of Law & Order: SVU (215,000) followed by a repeat (173,000). This Is Us (74,000), buried at 10:30pm, wastes a fabulous modern US drama. 10 fourth in both primary (9.7%) and network (17.8%) shares.
Heeler-watchâ„¢: Bluey (218,000 am; 149,000 pm) still doing brilliant business for the ABC, leading the multi-channels.
Sunrise (254,000) adds another win over The Today Show (219,000) and ABC Breakfast (200,000 [140,000 ABC; 60,000 ABC News]).
