When Karen and John buy a rambling colonial money pit in one of Australia’s most protected heritage areas, they get more than they bargained for.
Nestled in the heart of The Rocks, with views to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Grimes Cottage is one of the only double-fronted colonial houses in the area and dates back to the early days of colonisation.
With a tonne of restrictions impacting their vision, how will they transform a family home from the early nineteenth century into a family home for the 21st?

What was the cost?- you wimped out here !!
The restored cottage looks wonderful on the outside but I was very disappointed with the interior, which looks stark and soulless, especially the grim, operating-theatre-like kitchen with its shiny black fittings. From the way Karen spoke at the beginning I expected much more of the character of the house to be retained, more of a blend of modern and traditional. Not homely, in my opinion.
