SBS has secured Australian broadcast rights to The Sister, a new ITV thriller from Luther writer Neil Cross.
The Sister follows a man haunted by the death of a young woman at a party, the true circumstances of which only he and an eccentric old acquaintance know.
The four-episode miniseries was produced by Euston Films, it premiered in the UK on commercial broadcaster ITV last week to 5.6 million viewers.
The Sister features a cast including Russell Tovey, Bertie Carvel, Amrita Acharia and Nina Toussaint-White.
Almost a decade into his new and devoted married life, Nathan is rocked to the core when Bob, an unwelcome face from the past, turns up on his doorstep with shocking news that triggers a series of catastrophic decisions which cleverly drive a tense and compelling narrative of psychological suspense, dread, love and possible redemption.
Neil Cross based the show on his own novel, Burial. He exec produces alongside Euston Films MD Kate Harwood (Dublin Murders, Hard Sun, Baghdad Central) and Noemi Spanos (Dublin Murders).
The Sister is expected to premiere on SBS in early 2021
