The final indoor reveal for The Block too good again for anything to beat it.

The Block (1,037,000 [1,012,000 show; 1,061,000 winner]) starts to taper with only a couple of weeks to go, and the reveals are still streets ahead of everything else…in fact this episode delivering the biggest numbers in its 2020 season. 60 Minutes (649,000) benefitted from the ratings halo, and even at 9:30pm-ish Nine News Late (295,000) saw mostly die-hard US political wonks stay up for the latest information. It placed Nine first in both primary (21.3%) and network (27.9%) shares.

As enjoyable a program Beat The Chasers (630,000) is, it is holding its own but not really competing with Nine’s 7pm offering. A late inclusion in the schedule – 7News Presents: The American Presidency (251,000) and delivered by Michael Usher and Angela Cox – did fine ratings-wise, but is “fine” good enough?. Crime Investigation Australia (,000), bumped from its 8:30pm timeslot back to 9:30pm didn’t start any fires. Seven second (and well off the pace) in both primary (15.1%) and network (20.5%) shares.

Diabolical times for 10. The Sunday Project (334,000 6pm; 471,000 7pm) not capturing much attention as it bridges the end of the news and the start of the evening’s entertainment. The Junior MasterChef Australia (526,000) season three finale part 1 didn’t really garner any attention against the competition. Perhaps tonight’s part 2 will bring it home? (Me: unlikely.) Afterwards, FBI (254,000) season two finale then a repeat of from an earlier season (174,000) drew so few eyeballs its not funny. 10 third – but only JUST – in both primary (11.2%) and network (16.1%) shares.

The Sound (89,000) led off night for the ABC, in the toughest timeslot of the week (6pm Sunday). Restoration Australia (522,000), Roadkill (380,000) and a repeat of Doc Martin (258,000) rounded out the night for a reasonably rusted on Aunty audience. The ABC fourth overall in primary (10%) and network (15.5%) shares.

Bluey (392,000 am; 164,000 pm) still the biggest thing on multichannel TV (and this before we add in BVOD/catch-up numbers.

The AM shows continued to reap the benefits of our fascination with all things US politics. Weekend Sunrise (275,000) lead the charge, followed by Weekend Today (246,000) and Weekend Breakfast (323,000 [137,000 ABC; 186,000 ABC News]). Insiders (428,000 [343,000 ABC; 85,000 ABC News]) and Offsiders (604,000 [354,000 ABC; 250 ABC News]) rounded out the ABC’s morning coverage, proving their place in viewer’s Sunday ritual.
