10 SHAKE lives up to its name as primetime schedule is shaken

Channel 10’s decision to broadcast a new multi-channel, in the form of 10 Shake, has backfired, with the struggling channel failing to lift past a 0.4 weekly average and only topping NITV in the ratings.

10 is overhauling the schedule for the third time since launch with a ‘throw it at the wall and see if sticks’ approach.

Tosh.0 is out of the line-up effectively immediately, despite being played late night and only having a couple of weeks left of episodes in the season to be played.

Teem Mom was due to move to season 3 on Monday 9th November, but 10 is holding off premiering that new season, in favour of repeats of Total Wipeout UK.

Drunk History US has been pulled from the schedule next week, just two episodes shy of completing its season.

Just Tattoo of Us is out Monday 9th November but that may be temporary due to 10 Shake screening the 2020 Europe Music Awards.

Repeats of The Cleveland Show have been yanked from the schedule as well.

10 Shake will fill the gap with more old episodes of South Park, which will air Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Most of 10 Shake’s programming has been played out of order including Lip Sync Battle, Ridiculousness, Just Tattoo of Us and Drunk History US, many are episodes from years gone by and the schedule has already been through a refresh.

Hopefully, 10 uses the summer period to play out these series and then start the new year with new seasons closer to US air date and in order.

Note: 10 have stopped providing TV Blackbox with guide and amendment information which is supposed to promote and inform their schedule to their viewers

  1. Poor and No back up from Media platform to promote the lead up to new Channel. Lack of communication and delayed date by Channel 10. Overall review on Rating measurements shouldn’t be just a target group who has a tv ratings set in some households. With digital now something that the ratings will change and every household, business and media will be counted measured. Time to change the ratings measurement. Digital should pick up every movement

  2. It should be remembered that CBSViacom is still selling MTV and Comedy Central to paying subscribers. They may not be wanting to completely cannibalise this audience.
