Nine has secured Australian broadcast rights for a new landmark environmental series focused on our own Great Barrier Reef.
Great Barrier Reef: A Living Treasure dives beneath waves of the richest and most complex eco-system in the world.
Narrated by multi-award winning actor Russell Crowe and directed by Emmy-award winning cinematographer Richard Fitzpatrick, this blue chip, million-dollar series was filmed over four years.
The new series will highlight creatures big and small who call the Reef home, from ferocious tiger sharks and the world’s most venomous creature the box jellywish, to breeding humpback whales and spawning turtles.
The series covers the wide variety of species across the full spectrum of the 2,300km Great Barrier Reef.
An airdate for Great Barrier Reef: A Living Treasure is yet to be confirmed.
