Moved to Monday thanks to the NRL Grand Final, The Block sees away Seven’s celebrity torture-porn reality series.
With Jimmy and Tam again winning another room reveal The Block (978,000 [981,000 show; 975,000 room winner]) brought home the bacon for Nine in primetime, shunting Seven’s SAS Australia (770,000) into second place for the first time in its short history. This extended ep also impacted Junior MasterChef Australia (447,000) – it’s lowest this season so far – and Have You Been Paying Attention? (612,000) on 10, both down on last week’s figures.
Seven’s 8:30pm offering of a double The Rookie (291,000; 261,000), and Nine’s delivery of RBT (365,000) saw both their audiences shrink dramatically after their 7:30pm offerings.
On 7mate the first ep of the Housos 2020 (189,000) and the new Australian animated series Regular Old Bogan (99,000) performed as expected.
ABC’s night of current affairs – Australian Story (616,000), Four Corners (686,000), Media Watch (644,000), and Q&A (375,000) – continues to deliver consistent audiences.
Sunrise (241,000) continues to lead The Today Show (204,000) and ABC Breakfast (188,000 [129,000 ABC; (59,000) ABC News]) in the brekky battle.
