We are living in an outrage culture.

Barely a week goes by without someone getting publicly crucified in a torrent of angry tweets, tabloid headlines, opinion pieces and TV punditry, for real or imagined mistakes.

Reputation Rehab will tackle shaming head-on and break the cycle through comedy and empathy.

Each episode deep-dives into an outrage story, or a person who has endured a public shaming. Our reputation exists in the minds of others, and as such, Kirsten Drysdale and Zoe Norton Lodge will always consult with a focus group of REAL PEOPLE to find out how closely the heightened coverage aligns with their views.

Kirsten and Zoe will then seek to rehabilitate the guest’s damaged reputation through interviews, media analysis and stunts which aim to reveal something genuine instead of merely shocking.

Nick Kyrgios is a 25-year-old who doesn’t always love his job. This central tension, combined with his tendency to behave in unexpected ways on and off the court, has led to years of consternation in the Australian media and his perennial label as ‘the bad boy of tennis’.

This episode asks the question – if you’re labelled a “bad boy”, can you ever shake it? We find out by confronting journalists behind the coverage, training with sports industry experts and meeting the real person behind the headlines: Nick Kyrgios.

Production credits: An ABC and CJZ production. Creators, producers and writers: Sophie Braham and Melina Wicks. Presenters and writers: Kirsten Drysdale and Zoe Norton Lodge. Executive Producer: Nick Murray. (CJZ) ABC Executive Producer: Nick Hayden.

Reputation Rehab – Series Premiere Wednesday 28 October 9.05pm
