A slight dip, though it was enough to help Seven win the timeslot but not the night.
SAS Australia jumped out of the blocks again with a strong follow-up episode, delivering 795,000 viewers to Seven (though down slightly on the premiere). The Block ticked up slightly – 793,000 – with the return of past contestants keeping it within a sniff. The Trump Show helped deliver the night to Nine with an additional 483,000 viewers… nobody really hung around after SAS finished.
Junior MasterChef Australia also bounced up slightly, drawing 470,000 viewers which was just under the 7pm half hour of The Project (486,000).
Big Weather (and How To Survive It) added 371,000 for its second of three episodes, consistent with audiences near vanishing from free-to-air TV after 8:30pm. New obdoc series Outback Ringer drew a meagre 397,000 on premiere at 8pm.
Sunrise (229,000) delivered an almost record low number for a non-public holiday, allowing The Today Show (222,000) to get within a hair’s breath. Even ABC Breakfast (203,000) was in the hunt too. Significantly The Today Show won, ABC Breakfast second, and Sunrise came third on the East Coast yesterday.
