Nine’s sixteenth season of The Block has again beaten everything thrown at it with an overwhelming win on Sunday.
Pulling 1,009,000 for the show portion and 1,082,000 for the room reveal after split-coding the 90 minute episodes (average 1,046,000) The Block even beat Nine and Seven’s usually dominant News services, though Nine’s pipped Seven’s by the smallest margin, 989,000k vs 984,000. 60 Minutes struggled to maintain interest with only 524,000 tuning in.
The 2020 AFL Brownlow Medal broadcast (Seven/7mate) drew 683,000 averaged across both primary and multichannel broadcasts, with Seven airing DC’s Aquaman on their primary channel in non-AFL-centric states, adding a meagre 311,000 nationally.
The final round of the 2020 Supercars Championship: Bathurst 1000 struggled to draw many eyeballs on free to air TV for broadcaster 10, only managing 669,000 viewers average across the 6 and a half hour race time. Additionally, Junior MasterChef Australia attracted its lowest audience this season in 498,000 viewers.
The Bathurst ratings made slightly more respectable after an additional 347,000 were added through Fox Sports viewers, lifting the entire race average to 1,016,000 viewers – down from 1,815,000 viewers in 2019.
