It’s an over-the-top production that’s very physical, but it was a flat bed that brought Denise Drysdale undone in the middle of the night while filming Seven’s big new show

Holey Moley is one of the big production ‘powerhouses’ channel 7 is hoping will bring big ratings in 2021.

The set is huge, made up of multiple courses – each with their own unique challenges. Filming takes place overnight until 5am as complete darkness is required for the course.

As widely reported today, Denise Drysdale was shooting a segment for the show last night where she was hooked up to electrodes. The electrodes are turned on when the golfer misses a putt.

But the electrodes didn’t cause the fall that put Drysdale in hospital.

TV Blackbox can reveal Ding Dong was playing up to the crowd, in her usual wonderful way, on a flat part of the course and fell as she danced about. Her back was injured in several places.

This website understands each contestant undergoes a physical examination for the show which they must pass to take part. In fact some celebrities have been turned away after not passing the physical. There are different requirements depending on what challenges they are taking part in.

The majority of contestants are ‘ordinary’ Australians but celebrities are brought in for a hole for some light relief.

Although Drysdale had had many health issues over the years, the ‘Frankenputt’ (as it is known in the US) is not physically demanding. Sources say the accident was just one of those unfortunate things as the iconic entertainer tried to play up to the crowd.

A Eureka Productions spokesperson told us:

“While filming Holey Moley in Brisbane last night, Denise Drysdale tripped on a putting green and sustained a shoulder injury. She is resting and receiving treatment. Denise is a national treasure and everyone is wishing her a speedy recovery.”

Drysdale was still texting from her hospital bed today and issued a statement through Channel 7:

“Mummy has took a tumble and has broken one of her chicken wings. The hospital are taking good care of me.”

TV Blackbox has been in contact with Drysdale can report the star is recovering… but the biggest shock in all of this is the fact she knows how to use emojis now!

  1. Australia is turning more into America with shows like this. Firstly it has to have a stupid American ( who isn’t the slightest bit funny). Secondly it’s dangerous. Contestants getting belted into water hitting the side on the coarse by a windmill blade. Walking themselves into a greased pole from a flying fox. Not to mention the other ridiculous things. Shirvington and Greg Norman must be desperate to put the names to a show like this! Why not save money and just have children throwing broken glass bottles at each other! If this is called entertainment then people need their heads read! Laughing at idiotic morons act the fool and injure themselves. That’s the garbage you’d find on American tv!

  2. I cannot totally agree with what you say but it looks dangerous especially the windmill and doors slamming open on people .. I cannot see the humour in people or even animals being hurt to get a laugh .. But then I have never understood how the worlds greatest videos showing children and adults being hurt was so popular as well … it all makes me cringe
