After a successful two-week period in self-isolation, production has now been completed on the 2020 season of The Masked Singer.
Filming of the Grand Finale episode of The Masked Singer was finally completed on Tuesday evening after production had to be shut down on the 22nd of August when a dance performer involved with the program reported feeling unwell.
Testing at the time revealed an initial seven people involved with the program had tested positive to COVID-19, that number soon expanded to 17 after an extensive testing program was conducted of everyone connected to the reality singing contest.
The COVID outbreak caused a cast and crew of over 200 people to enter a two-week self-isolation period.
The programs host Osher Gunsberg, and judges Jackie O, Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes and Urzila Carlson all tested negative to the virus. It’s understood all remaining Masked Singer secret performers also tested negative.
TV Blackbox can now confirm all 17 people infected with the virus, a mixture of professional dancers and production staff have now tested negative.
It is understood judge Urzila Carlson appeared in the final episode via video link from New Zealand. Host Osher Gunsberg, and judge Jackie O have also already returned to NSW and appeared in the finale from 10’s Sydney studio, while Dave Hughes and Dannii Minogue remained in Melbourne.
With filming of The Masked Singer Grand Finale at Melbourne’s Dockland Studios now complete, many interstate workers connected with the series will now have to enter a further two-week period of isolation so they can return home.
