Rugby fans will now be served a triple treat in next weekend’s ‘Super Saturday’, following the rescheduling of New Zealand’s North v South game.

The final round clash between the Melbourne Rebels and Western Force has been brought forward to kick-off at 3pm AEST at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle, before the North v South game in Wellington, New Zealand at 5.10pm AEST.

The action will then continue at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane when the Queensland Reds and the Brumbies face-off at 7.20pm AEST.

The Rebels will be fighting to secure their first-ever berth in a Super Rugby Finals Series when they face the Western Force. Melbourne need a four-point win over the men from the West to knock the NSW Waratahs out of third spot on the ladder, and seal a Qualifying Final berth.

The top three teams at the end of the regular season will progress through to the Finals with the second-placed side to host the third-placed side in a Qualifying Final on Saturday 12 September.

Following the games in Round Nine, it has been confirmed that the Brumbies will host the Final on Saturday 19 September at GIO Stadium in Canberra, and will play the winner of the Qualifying Final.

All matches, including ‘Super Saturday’ next weekend, will be LIVE on FOX SPORTS to watch on Foxtel or stream live on Kayo Sports.

Rugby Australia Interim CEO, Rob Clarke said:

“Next Saturday’s action is just getting better and better so thank you to our broadcast partners FOX SPORTS as well as the Melbourne Rebels and the Western Force for accommodating this new addition.

“What an afternoon next Saturday will be for Rugby fans in Australia. We are now at the very pointy end of what has been an enthralling Super Rugby AU competition – and with finals berths there for the taking, everything is still to play for,”
