PROGRAMMING WRAP | Despite COVID restrictions, Seven has a full slate of first run Australian content

Seven has had a rocky start to the 2020 television season, but at the mid-year part of the television season they are fighting back with the return of the AFL and the success of Big Brother.

COVID-19 has caused significant disruption across the media sector and Seven has certainly felt the effects with the loss of the Olympics and production delays on key titles including Holey Moley, RFDS and Australia’s Got Talent. Seven have confirmed to TV Blackbox all three shows will now premiere in 2021.

Despite this setback, Seven still has a significant investment in Australian programming with the following shows scheduled for the second half of 2020:

Between Two Worlds

An intense, high concept contemporary drama series about two disparate and disconnected worlds, thrown together by death and a sacrifice in one and the chance for new life in the other.

Cast: Dominic Allburn, Melanie Jarnson, Aaron Jeffery, Hermione Norris, Megan Smart, Sara Wiseman, Alex Cubis, Tom Dalzell, Philip Quast

Farmer Wants a Wife

City meets country in this fun-filled Australian series; five lonely farmers on the road to romance choose between hundreds of prospective partners.

Murder in the Outback: The Falconio and Lees Story (begins Sunday July 12th at 7pm)

This documentary re-examines the evidence surrounding the 2001 death of a British backpacker Peter Falconio.

The All New Monty: Guys v Gals

The Real Full Monty and The All New Monty: Ladies Night were smash hits. Now, these feelgood formats come together for one monster special event series.

Shane Jacobson, Todd McKenney and Georgie Parker bring together male and female celebrities for THE ALL NEW MONTY: GUYS AND GALS.

Plate of Origin

Plate of Origin will see 10 teams of two compete and cook up some of the best meals from ten different countries across 10 episodes.

The countries represented in the competition are Italy, India, Lebanon, Vietnam, France, Greece, Venezuela, China, Cameroon and Australia.

Mates on a Mission

Four beloved Aussie faces are banding together to shine a spotlight on causes close to their hearts in MATES ON A MISSION.

From Seven Studios comes a fresh aspirational travel comedy series with an unexpected heart-warming twist.

Forget fun runs and chocolate drives, this awesome foursome will go to any length to get their message out there: Shane Jacobson – TV host / actor, Todd McKenney – entertainer, Kris Smith – model and Brian “BT” Taylor – AFL legend / commentator.

Fam Time

Fam Time follows the story of the highly dysfunctional blended Box family which, like most families today, is struggling to combine their online and everyday lives in the suburbs and stars Michala Banas and Rhonda Burchmore.

Celebrity SAS: Australia

With production now moved to the NSW Blue Mountains, Seven has confirmed to TV Blackbox a title change for this show which was previously known as SAS: Who Dares Wins.

It’s the toughest test of their lives. Fourteen Aussie celebs will eat, sleep and train together in spectacular and punishing terrain with no allowances made for their celebrity status. They’re attempting to overcome the intensive SAS selection process, led by Chief Instructor Ant Middleton.

Plus Seven has Surveillance Oz, Surveillance Oz: Dashcam, Hatton Garden, Wild Bill, The Bay, The Amazing Race, Liar, Extreme Weddings, Blindspot (final season), Wife Swap, Reckoning, One Lane Ridge, Filthy Rich, 9-1-1 Lone Star, The Rookie, Chicago Fire and Dogs Behaving Badly.
