The Adelaide Autumn Carnival will finish with a bang when a star-studded field does battle in The Goodwood at Morphettville on Saturday, when race fans will also enjoy all the action at Flemington and Rosehill Gardens LIVE and FREE on Seven.
Santa Ana Lane is bidding to become just the second horse ever to win two Goodwoods, after Musket Belle enjoyed back-to-back triumphs way back in 1911-12.
But the Anthony Freedman-trained gelding will have to be at his absolute best to repeat his 2018 victory in the Group 1 1200m feature, where the main contenders include hometown hope and favourite Gytrash, Stradbroke Handicap winner Trekking, multiple Group 1 victor Sunlight, and Patrick Payne-trained gelding The Inevitable.
Australia’s pre-eminent broadcaster Bruce McAvaney will lead Seven’s coverage on Saturday alongside Hamish McLachlan, Henry Dwyer and Katelyn Mallyon.
Seven will also bring viewers all the highlights from the National Hall of Fame Race Day at Flemington, where the winner of the Andrew Ramsden Stakes (Listed, 2800m) earns one of racing’s greatest prizes – direct entry to the 2020 Melbourne Cup.
And Rosehill will host the second day of the transferred Scone Carnival, including feature races the Dark Jewel Classic (Group 3, 1400m), Luskin Star Stakes (Listed, 1300m) and Ortensia Stakes (Listed, 1100m).
