Filming on Seven’s primetime soap drama Home and Away is set to resume later this month after an extended shutdown due to COVID lockdown restrictions.

Production on the series is now set to resume production on May 25, seven weeks after the network was forced to halt production due to the lockdown restrictions.

A spokesperson for Seven confirmed the resumption of filming telling News Corp;

“A range of measures will be in place to minimise risk for cast and crew, to be overseen by dedicated safety officers,”

“The measures include temperature checks on arrival, increased hygiene practices and rigorous cleaning schedules. Scripts will also be reworked to reduce close contact, in constant consultation with the cast and crew to ensure the health and safety of all.”

Initially filming on the popular soap will be limited to Seven’s studio facility in Eveleigh, location shoots at Palm Beach will remain on hold until restrictions are further eased.

Seven has been under pressure to get the series back into production quickly due to ensure the soap can remain on-air both in Australia and internationally.
