The stories behind the killer songs of one of the greatest groups in history come to life in ABBA: The Secrets of Their Greatest Hits.

This music special is packed with incredible testimony, never-before-seen footage and interviews, all telling the definitive story behind ABBA’s classic and favourite songs.

Viewers will see what exactly happened in the studio when their biggest hits were recorded, what inspired the music and lyrics, the cultural and social background and, most interestingly, the drama, tantrums and feuds that surrounded the four superstars: Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha and Anni-Frid.

Tracing the personal and musical development of the Swedish group, we gain insight into the moments such as the time Agnetha Fältskog cried when she read the lyrics for The Winner Takes It All, and what it took to create the all-time classics Mama Mia and Dancing Queen.

The singalong continues on Nine after the ABBA special with the musical comedy Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again at 8.30pm.
