They say never swear when near a microphone and some Channel 7 personalities have learnt that the hard way when an off-air conversation was broadcast.
Just after 8.30am on Saturday morning, Channel 7 experienced an issue which has seen the F bomb dropped twice in the space of a minute. The problem occurred during Weekend Sunrise when Channel 7’s National Playout Centre crossed to another studio.
Just after host Matt Doran threw to reporter Sarah Greenhalgh, viewers suddenly had the vision switched to Sportsbet’s Inside Trading show, which was preparing to go live on 7 TWO.
The first F bomb was dropped by Simon Marshall just moments after the feed was taken. Marshall had dropped some scripts and was bending down to pick them up.
At the other side of the studio Julian Vallance and Ben Clifton can be heard having a conversation. As they talk one of them can be heard saying;
“He’s a f***ing hack”
It’s not known who made the comment or who was being talked about and it’s believed the issue only affect viewers in Sydney.
You can see what happened in the video below;
Late last year Seven closed its Melbourne Broadcast Facility and is now using the National Playout Centre (NPC), a 50/50 joint venture between Seven and Nine.
Why did you censor the F words? I heard two duck sounds which apparently covered the F words. Please don’t do that again.
