Controversial alternative lifestyle crusader and reality cooking show judge Pete Evans has parted ways with the Seven Network.

TV Blackbox understands the separation was an amicable mutual decision after the network informed Evans it would not be proceeding with another season of MKR in the foreseeable future.

Evans has been with Seven since 2010, where he co-hosted the once hugely successful My Kitchen Rules for 11 seasons. At its peak, the reality cooking format was regularly capturing 2 million viewers nationally and helped push Seven into being the number one network. However recent years has seen fans tire of the format with ratings declining dramatically.

Evans is now understood to be keen on focusing his time now on expanding his ‘alternative lifestyle’ empire, which includes producing books and documentaries.

His social platforms attract a considerable online following but has also earned the ‘health coach’ plenty of criticism from medical groups due to his promotion of diets including Paleo during pregnancy, and his campaigns against water fluoridation and medical vaccinations

Last month Evans received a $25,000 fine from the Therapeutic Goods Administration, after promoting a $15,000 BioCharger NG lamp which he claimed could assist with the treatment of Covid-19.

As previously reported by TV Blackbox, Seven had declined to comment on Evans role in selling the device.

Evans departure from Seven comes as the network turns its focus on marketing what it hopes will be its next big cooking franchise Plate Of Origin, filming on the reality contest was recently completed despite Covid-19 restrictions.

The series will feature the TV return of popular former MasterChef judges Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan working in combination with Evans former MKR colleague, Manu Feildel. Plate of Origin will premiere on Seven in the 2nd half of 2020.

    • How so, Max? Evans has courted so much controversy and brought so much negativity toward him and the Seven Network I struggle to see how Evans’ departure is a loss for the Network.

  1. It’s easy to see why it’s a bit of a loss. The most popular shows on tv are shows about flakes. Married at first belch, a bunch of other bikini clad shows, big idiot, first house bitch, dr dumbass, twaddlebox… No shortages of fools wanting their 15 seconds of shame. This quaint convict outpost is addicted to them.

  2. Not happy Jan, Pete is my favorite chef on tv at the moment, Si channel seven big mistake, I’ve watched MKR since the beginning and Pete is the reason I keto watching, but no more if you have those ex and masterchef on there, bye bye channel 7, and believe me my. Tv is. Always ? seven, but without Pete Evans is gone, even love hin on BHG, just the best I’ve bought all his coming bn books.
