Q+A: COVID-19: Where to next?
Australia now faces some serious questions about the next phase of our battle to contain coronavirus.
Recent data is encouraging – social distancing seems to be working and we’ve avoided the catastrophic start to the epidemic other countries have endured.
With the curve now flattening, we can either lockdown until there is a vaccine or continue living in partial lockdown for 12 months or more, with the subsequent social and economic damage to our economy and society.
Q+A tackles these big questions with an economist, an epidemiologist, an ethicist, union leader and the man handpicked by the Prime Minister to lead the COVID expert advisory panel.
They’ll join Hamish on the panel live:
Neville Power, Executive Chairman, National COVID-19 Coordination Commission
Sally McManus, Secretary, ACTU
Simon Longstaff, Executive Director, The Ethics Centre
Gigi Foster, Economist, UNSW
Jodie McVernon, Epidemiologist, Doherty Institute
Q+A is simulcast LIVE around the country on ABC TV, ABC iview and ABC NEWS on radio. ABC Australia also broadcasts Q+A in to Asia and the Pacific.
