After an escape for the kids? NITV has just the solution!

With families turning to television for entertainment and education, NITV’s range of children’s programming offers an escape to vast corners of the country, and adventures galore! Best of all, they’re all accessible by SBS’ free streaming platform – SBS On Demand.

Thalu premieres on April 20 and is an adventure for the whole family.

The live-action show focuses on a group of Indigenous children in the Pilbara region of WA, who undertake a journey to save their Country from the threat of a mysterious dust cloud and its inhabitants, the Takers.

The friends must make their way to the ‘Thalu’, a place of great power, in order to stop the cloud before it destroys everything in its path. Along the way they encounter friends and foe alike as they search for eight sacred stones and a special key that will unlock the power of the ‘Thalu’ and stop the Takers in their tracks.

The program features an array of famous Indigenous actors and comedians, including Elaine Crombie, Derik Lynch, Hunter-Page Lochard, Aaron McGrath, Tricia Morton-Thomas, Gabriel Willie and Trevor Jamieson.

Each season of the Logie award-winning series Little J & Big Cuz is also available on SBS On Demand. Featuring Miranda Tapsell and Deborah Mailman, the program follows the adventures of Indigenous Australian kids Little J and Big Cuz living with their Nanna and Old Dog. With the help of Nanna and their teacher Ms Chen they learn about culture, community and country – and so can kids at home!

Meanwhile, head to another galaxy in Future Dreaming. Stepping into a time-warping dream bubble, four young Aboriginal Australians guide audiences through their futures in a VR intergalactic adventure. Look out for the space emus!

For all this and more, head to SBS On Demand or tune into NITV.
