2019-20 NBA Schedule

Massive 9-game opening week tipping off Wednesday, Oct 23 at 11am AEDT

Opening doubleheader, the defending champs Toronto Raptors facing new Superstar-in-the-making Zion Williamson and the Pelicans.  Game 2 will feature the battle for LA as the new look Lakers with LeBron and Anthony Davis face off against the new look Clippers with Kawhi and Paul George.

ESPN will air 190 regular season games

Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors will appear 30 times or more.

Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks will all appear 25 times or more.

ESPN will again be the home of the NBA Finals beginning June 5, 2020

ESPN Australia and New Zealand to televise 190 NBA regular season games in 2019-20, beginning with a doubleheader on Wednesday, October 23 at 11am AEDT on ESPN2, when superstar-in-the-making, Zion Williams makes his NBA regular season debut with the New Orleans Pelicans against defending NBA Champions Toronto Raptors. Followed by the highly anticipated first “battle for LA” between the Los Angeles Lakers, with duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the LA Clippers, with the duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Opening week also sees Kemba Walker and the Boston Celtics tip off against Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers, followed by a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Semifinals when Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers host Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets. Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans’ host Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks. While LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers host Joe Ingles, Dante Exum and the Utah Jazz.

ESPN will again be the home of the NBA Semi-Finals, Eastern and Western Conference Final Series and the Finals, with Finals set to begin on June 5 and running through to game 7 on June 22.

In addition to its 190-game regular season schedule ESPN will also bring back Sportscenter, Get Up, NBA Countdown, NBA Courtside, and The Jump featuring a cast of high-profile analysts, reporters and guests on ESPN and the ESPN App.

November 14 doubleheader featuring LA Clippers at Houston Rockets at 11:45am and Warriors vs. Lakers at 2:05pm

November 28 doubleheader see’s Kyrie Irving return to Boston as the Nets visit the Celtics, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers at New Orleans; capturing Anthony Davis’ return to New Orleans and the first time LeBron and Zion face off.

Kawhi Leonard returns to Toronto with the Clippers on December 12 after leading the Raptors to their first championship

Jimmy Butler faces his former team on December 19 when the Miami Heat visit Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers

Former Duke teammates Zion Williamson and RJ Barret compete against each other for the first time at Madison Square Garden on January 11 when the Knicks host the Pelicans

Jan 22 will feature a triple-header when the Pelican’s vs Grizzlies, Lakers vs Celtics and the Warriors vs Trail Blazers.

D’Angelo Russell returns to Brooklyn for the first time on February 6 after being acquired by Golden State in the offseason

2019 NBA Finals rematch on March 17 when Golden State visits Toronto

ESPN will again be the home of the NBA Semi-Finals, Eastern and Western Conference Final Series and the Finals.

NBA Finals begin on June 5 and running through to game 7 on June 22.

The ESPN Boxing day tradition (Christmas Day US Time) enters its 18th year on Thursday, December 26, with NBA Countdown featuring a five-game slate, including the highly-anticipated 2nd LA showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Clippers. Defending NBA Champions Toronto Raptors will also take on the Boston Celtics, and the New Orleans Pelicans versus the Denver Nuggets, in Zion Williamson’s first Christmas appearance. Meanwhile, MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks visit Ben Simmons, Jonah Bolden and the Philadelphia 76ers, while Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors and the new-look Houston Rockets, featuring James Harden and Russell Westbrook go head to head.
