SUNCORP SUPER NETBALL ON NINE: GIVE FOR A GOAL IN ROUND FOUR

This weekend is “Give for a Goal” round in Suncorp Super Netball, with every game raising money for Netball Australia’s Confident Girls Foundation which helps vulnerable girls find a sense of community, opportunity and safety.

At the special time of 1.00pm on Saturday on Nine and 9Now, the high-flying NSW Swifts will host back-to-back champions Sunshine Coast Lightning at the Quaycentre. In this battle of two-versus-three, captain Maddy Proud will be driving the Swifts to keep their unbeaten record intact against a relentless Lightning strike.

Saturday’s game will be hosted by Julie Snook and called by Will McCloy, along with expert commentator Liz Ellis and Megan Anderson, the sideline reporter and former Swift.

At 1.00pm on Sunday, the Queensland Firebirds will be chasing their first win of the season against the Canberra Giants at the Queensland State Netball Centre in Brisbane.

The Firebirds – whose round two clash with Collingwood ended in a thrilling draw – will look for a winning performance from exciting goal attack Gretel Tippet to counter the danger posed by new Giants recruit Caitlin Bassett at the other end of the court.

Queensland netball great Laura Geitz will give her sideline comments in this game alongside host Aislin Kriukelis, caller Seb Costello and expert commentator Annie Sargeant.
