A massive week of football takes over Foxtel this week with a triple header of derby action across La Liga, Westfield W-League and Hyundai A-League as FOX SPORTS and beIN deliver fans the thrilling action of some of the biggest matches of the season.

It all kicks off on Thursday, December 19 with one of the most exciting derbies in European football, the El Clásico. The atmosphere at Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain will be electric when Barcelona FC host their arch-rivals Real Madrid, with both teams boasting some of the best footballers in the world, including Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Luis Suarez and 2019’s and six time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.

LIVE coverage begins from 5.00am with kick off at 6.00am AEDT on beIN Sports 1 also available for the first time in 4K on FOX SPORTS Ultra HD (Channel 508).

On Friday, December 20, we are back on home soil with Round 6 of the Westfield W-League hosting the season’s first Sydney derby as the Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC go head-to-head at Bankwest Stadium. With both teams starting off their season strong, they will be looking to continue their run in their first clash. LIVE coverage from 5.00pm AEDT on FOX SPORTS 505.

Then on Saturday, December 21 in the Hyundai A-League, Melbourne City FC face Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park in the Melbourne derby for the second time this season. Their clash in Round 1 resulted in a scoreless draw, leaving both teams even more eager to win the bragging rights this time around.

Live coverage begins from 4.45pm with kick off at 5.00pm AEDT on FOX SPORTS 505.

Football fans will be able to watch the most comprehensive coverage with a panel of expert commentators to call all of the action with Adam Peacock alongside former Matilda Michelle Heyman calling the W-League Sydney derby, then Brenton Speed will be joined by former Socceroos Andy Harper and Archie Thompson to call the A-League Melbourne derby.

FOX SPORTS expert commentator Mark Bosnich said:

“Seriously looking at all the football this weekend it’s like Christmas has come early!

“The best thing about a derby is that the form guide goes out the window, the intensity goes up a notch and the passion on the pitch is only matched by the passion from both sets of fans in the stands.

“The Melbourne Derby has always been a highlight on the A-League calendar, the clash brings out the best in both sides. City will go into the clash as raging hot favourites, but you’d be a brave man to write off the Victory in this one.

“And when you talk about derbies around the world, they don’t get much bigger or any better than the El Classico. In this clash you’re going to see two of the biggest clubs in the world, filled with the best players in the world, in front of one of the loudest crowds in the world, battle it for 90 minutes.”
