The range of content on Seven’s free streaming service 7plus is set to get a boost after the network has signed a licencing deal with SVOD Documentary platform iwonder.

7plus will welcome iwonder onto the platform this month, with an exclusive selection of branded ‘iwonder documentaries’ hand-picked from the platform. New documentaries will be added every month for the first six months, with content rotated and refreshed on a monthly basis thereafter to appeal to new and returning users.

iwonder, describes itself as the fastest-growing dedicated subscription video on demand (SVOD) documentary and current affairs platform. The service now operates through Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Southeast Asia.

iwonder has access to documentaries across more than 50 genres and categories including: entertainment, sports, history, politics, science and technology, religion, music, movies, nature and war – as well as numerous biographies.

James Bridges, Co-Founder and CEO at iwonder, said of the deal:

“This partnership with 7plus gives us a fantastic platform and portal onto the screens and devices of millions of on-demand viewers in Australia, as we continue our mission to appeal to people’s natural curiosity by serving up the most compelling and important real-life stories from across the globe.

TV and movie fans in Australia are among the hungriest in the world when it comes to their appetite for video on demand and we’re excited to be able to add our distinctive flavour to that feast.”

Access to the selection of iwonder monthly highlights on 7plus will be free for users of the Seven platform.

The full iwonder catalogue is available for $6.99AUD a month. Users can sign up at www.iwonder.com or by downloading the iOS or Android mobile or tablet apps to watch on the move or on big screens via Chromecast or Airplay.
