Fox Sports launches 2019/20 A-League Season

The stars of the Hyundai A-League joined forces with the FOX SPORTS football team in Sydney today to launch the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season.

FOX SPORTS will continue to bring fans closer to the game with every game of the Hyundai A-League LIVE in HD with no ad-breaks during play.

This season will also see the start of a new free-to-air broadcast deal as the ABC begins simulcasting Saturday afternoon matches, mostly in the 5pm timeslot.

This season FOX SPORTS will take fans into the inner sanctum of their favourite club, delivering fans pre-game interviews during warm ups, pre-game addresses from the coaches and access to the dressing rooms.

FOX SPORTS Minis also offers fans a condensed highlights package that can be accessed on demand on their TV, tablet or smart device through Foxtel, Foxtel GO and Foxtel NOW for those who miss the action live.

FOX SPORTS hosts Tara Rushton and Adam Peacock were joined by Head of Leagues Greg O’Rourke along with stars of the game to officially launch the new season which begins this weekend.

Speaking at today’s launch, O’Rourke said:

“The Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season will see the dawn of a new era for the competition.

“We have an expanded league with the introduction of our newest club, Western United FC. They will provide a new narrative, new rivalries and new fans in one of the fastest growing regions in Australia.

“We have 6 of the 11 clubs with new coaches and a desire to change their new clubs fortunes, Western Sydney Wanderers are finally returning to Bankwest Stadium and all clubs have recruited well.”

Head of FOX SPORTS Peter Campbell added:

“There is so much to look forward to this summer and FOX SPORTS will be the destination for fans to see all of the ad-break free action of every game Live, including the finals, of the Hyundai A-League and the Westfield W-League.”

FOX SPORTS has been there since the first season of the Hyundai A-League and continues its unwavering commitment to football for the 2019/20 season.

Round one gets underway on Friday, 11 October with Adelaide United hosting Sydney FC at 7.00pm before the Melbourne Derby between Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City on Saturday, 12 October at 7.30pm. League newcomers Western United will play their first match away against the Wellington Phoenix on Sunday, October 13 at 4.00pm.

FOX SPORTS will again deliver fans the best commentary and analysis in the business with experienced callers Brenton Speed and Simon Hill joined in the commentary box by Australian football icons Mark Bosnich, Andy Harper, Robbie Slater and Archie Thompson.

Football fans will also enjoy unrivalled insight throughout the season from Australian football legends Alex Brosque, Graham Arnold, Kevin Muscat and John Kosmina. 

FOX SPORTS is also home to the Socceroos with every World Cup Qualifier, LIVE in HD and ad-break free during play.
